‘Ask not what your LEP can do for you, ask what you can do for your LEP' quoted by JFK’s Headmaster (well, almost).
Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) are partnerships between local authorities and businesses. They decide what the priorities should be for investment in roads, buildings and facilities within their region. They control the network of thirty-nine growth hubs, now complete across England, giving 4.7 million businesses ready access to the support they need to start up, scale up and create more jobs.
Growth Hubs work across the country with local and national, public and private sector partners - such as Chambers of Commerce, FSB, universities, Enterprise Zones and banks, co-ordinating local business support and connecting businesses to the right help for their needs.
There are five LEPs covering the North West, each with the same aims but different strategies which will be explored and compared during the discussions led by Jim Hancock, former Political Editor of Granada and BBC North West.
We’ve invited each of the 5 LEPs and expect a mix of chief executives, chairs or board members to attend. Already confirmed as attending are: Graham Haywood, Director of Cumbria, Mark Hughes from Greater Manchester, Mark Basnett, Managing Director of Liverpool and Philip Cox, Chief Executive of Cheshire & Warrington.
Jim will ensure you can ask the questions that focus on delivering the right long term support for your business. Marketers and LEPs are both focused on delivering growth; your growth, your economy, your locality.
Do you know your LEP as well as you should? Do they know you? Do you know how they and you can work together to achieve growth? This event will enable you to put this right, to make the connections you need, to hear and be heard and to go for grow together.
A great opportunity to bring a guest or two and enjoy a three-course dinner!
