    ENGINEERING INDUSTRY CELEBRATED AT CeeD INDUSTRY AWARDS 

    • The 2019 Inaugural CeeD Industry Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of some of the best-established businesses in Scotland
    • The awards also honour the rising stars in the engineering industry
    • Volvo group wins marketing award sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)

    Volvo group, Booth Welsh, Calnex and Novosound were among the winners at the 2019 Centre for Engineering Education and Development (CeeD) Industry awards. The winners were judged by an esteemed panel of experts, including Joe Pacitti, managing director of CeeD and chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in Scotland, Dave Pearson Chairman of CeeD and director of Star Refrigeration, Gordon McInnes Engineering Manager of Texas Instruments and Karen Stewart MD of Ninetwenty Recruitment.

    The awards were held at Glasgow Hilton Hotel and hosted by Sheeren Nanjiani, main presenter for STV’s ‘Scotland Today’ news programme and one of the best-known broadcasters in Scotland.

    The ceremony highlighted the recognition and outstanding contributions of the best-established businesses in Scotland within the engineering industry.

    Volvo group scooped the prestigious marketing award sponsored by CIM; for its unrivalled performance in delivering marketing excellence for clients. Organisations include Calnex, Novosound, Trig Avionics, Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC), SRUC, Forth Ports, Booth Welsh, NS Design, Scottish Water, Blaze manufacturing Glenmorangie, Johnston Matthey, Re-Tek UK Ltd and JFD were also winners on the night.  

    Discussing the night, Joe Pacitti, managing director of CeeD and Scotland chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) said: “Professional engineering and marketing is a vital driver of business advantage – boosting commercial outcomes and growing talent. I would like to offer my congratulations to all who made it to the finals; they reflect the very best in engineering and marketing talent as well as recognising the rising stars in the industry.   

    “Sitting in a privileged position as MD, of CeeD which embraces networking and promotes a multidisciplinary approach to best practice exchange and learning, and as the chair of the CIM in Scotland, I believe we are on the cusp of being able to create the greater dynamic connections needed – at least here in Scotland.

    CeeD is a fusion of businesses working to build a national engineering community in Scotland, with common aspiration to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness and profit.
