Gain exemptions for a professional marketing qualification

A head start for marketing students

We have partnered with universities across the world to give students the best start to their marketing careers once they have graduated from university.

  • Exemptions reduce the number of assessments you take – to gain a CIM qualification – from three to one, if you gained a relevant degree from a CIM Accredited Degree University. Take advantage of this up to five years after graduating from university.
  • Reduce the duration to gain CIM qualifications by up to 66% – combine your degree with CIM qualifications and you may only be required to undertake one CIM module instead of three.
  • Gain a professional qualification and save up to £300 in assessment fees.

Yes, however, you’ll need to discuss with your tutor to see if your university offers this. If they don’t then you can do it through one of CIM's approved study centres. You can search for an approved study centre here.

If you have any questions or want to talk about anything further you can contact us on qualifications@cim.co.uk or telephone +44 (0)1628 427120 (Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00).

Providing you achieve a 2:2 or above (undergraduate) or a pass mark (postgraduate), you can study the additional modules via one of our approved study centres (tuition fees will apply), within five years of graduating.

With a relevant degree from a CIM Accredited Degree university, you have up to five years from graduating to complete the additional module(s) to gain your full qualification.

If you are currently studying at university, you can register for our Marketing Club and take additional modules while studying. After you have left university, you will need to register as a member to complete the additional modules.

The number of modules you need to complete with CIM will vary depending on which level of study you embark on, and the exemption(s) your degree entitles you to.

To find out more about the CIM modules, we recommend you speak to your university or alternatively, you can contact us on qualifications@cim.co.uk or telephone +44 (0)1628 427120 (Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00).

Reasonable adjustments enable a candidate with additional requirements to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding to the levels of attainment required by the relevant CIM qualification specification.
